Committees, Boards, and Commissions
Committees
Committees are made up of three Council members and all meet on an as-needed basis, often in the hour or so before Council meetings start.
Committee of the Whole
The Committee of the Whole is a committee meeting of the entire Council. Meetings are called on an as-needed basis when an issue is before Council that requires the deliberation of the entire Council.

Administration & Finance Committee
The Administration & Finance Committee shall oversee the administrative, personnel, and financial operations of the Village. It is responsible for reviewing the annual operating and capital budgets, financial reports, and audits, as well as recommending fiscal policies and fee schedules. The committee shall also review matters related to Village personnel, procurement, intergovernmental agreements, and internal administrative systems to ensure efficient, transparent, and accountable governance.

Communication & Community Engagement Committee
The Communications & Community Engagement Committee shall study the Village’s efforts to communicate effectively with residents, businesses, and partner organizations. The committee shall propose methods to ensure that Village communications are accurate, timely, accessible, and reflective of community values. Its responsibilities include reviewing and recommending policies for public information, creating digital and print communications when appropriate, pursuing resident opinions for strategic planning, and hosting community outreach events. The committee shall foster public participation in local government, and support coordination with community groups and businesses.

Infrastructure & Operations Committee
The Infrastructure & Operations Committee shall oversee the planning, development, maintenance, and improvement of the Village’s physical assets and public works. Its jurisdiction includes streets, bridges, sidewalks, sewers, stormwater systems, utilities coordination, and Village-owned facilities. The committee shall review and recommend capital improvement projects, evaluate infrastructure needs, and ensure that projects are consistent with the Village’s long-range planning, environmental sustainability goals, and fiscal priorities.

Safety Committee
The Safety Committee shall oversee matters related to the protection of public health, safety, and welfare. Its responsibilities include policy review and recommendations for the Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services, as well as coordination on emergency preparedness and public event safety. The committee may review and propose measures concerning traffic and pedestrian safety, building and fire codes, and the use of safety-related technologies and communications systems.
